Odeon Theatre, Bucharest, Romania – historic monument building from the interwar period
The architectural rehabilitation project of the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest aims to preserve and enhance an emblematic building of the interwar period, listed as a historic monument. The intervention respects the original architectural character and the cultural significance of the building within the urban context of the capital.
The works include the replacement of existing joinery and the restoration of the façade, with the objective of restoring the building’s authentic appearance and improving its functional performance. All interventions are carried out in accordance with historic monument conservation principles and current regulations.
For the windows, the IVLUCA 68 profile was used, selected for its ability to accurately reproduce various geometric forms — rectangular, arched, and circular — specific to the building’s original architecture. The adopted solution ensures a balance between heritage aesthetic requirements and contemporary technical performance.
The façade restoration focused on the recovery of original decorative details and colour scheme, highlighting the building’s volumetry and architectural identity. The project represents a responsible heritage conservation approach, integrating modern technologies within a historically significant context.
